The partnership between Saint-Joseph and Diogane schools

The school where Clémence teaches and our children go to – Saint-Joseph in Saint-Cloud (near Paris), has committed to a partnership with the Diogane school. The aim is to make Saint-Joseph pupils aware of such issues as mutual assistance and solidarity, and have them discover how children from another country live.

All teachers are involved, and send Diogane teachers and pupils’ self-portraits, paintings, presentations of the school, of France, of French trees… Pupils from both schools also exchange notebooks of poems.

All 300 pupils have spent time crafting bracelets in the colors of the French flag. They were sent to Senegal in early February.

1,200 euros were collected at the Christmas market, through the sales of Senegalese trinkets and bracelets crafted by the children.

Easter eggs were sold in March.

Max and Monique (from Voiles Sans Frontières) screened a movie and presented objects from Senegal as an introduction to the life of a little Senegalese girl. Many topics were addressed as the issue of water and transport in the Sine Saloum.
